“Railing against the past will not heal us. History has happened. It’s over and done with. All we can do is to change its course by encouraging what we love instead of destroying what we don’t. There is a beauty yet in this brutal, damaged world of ours. Hidden, fierce, immense. Beauty that is uniquely ours and beauty that we have received with grace from others, enhanced, reinvented and made our own. We have to seek it out, nurture it, love it.”

I’ve been revisiting the writings and inspirations of Arundhati Roy in recent days, as I prepare for an upcoming local talk.

This is just one of many of her insights that encourages and stirs the heart-embers.

Plus, as a writer who has a love and appreciation for the craft of writing, it’s always Muse-stirring to read the beautifully written words, or a breath-stopping turn of phrase, of another inspired, skillful writer.

Hope you find it inspiration-evoking, too.

Big Love on the Beauty Way.
