In Greece, today is the feast day of the Holy Mother, the Theotokos and Panagia, the All Holy.
The celebration is also called the Dormotion, or the Assumption of Mary, marking the time of Mother Mary’s passing from the mortal, human life into the life of Spirit.
My Greek friend, Marinela, tells me that all is focused on this remembrance of the Holy Mother on this day, and people have special foods and light candles in the church, among other things.
So why not light a candle, offer a cake (yes, this is the origin of the ‘birthday cake’!), and celebrate (and fill with) the spirit of the All Holy Divine Mother?
Big Love,
