“You are the Ground I have built on
and the beauty that rejoices my heart.
I give thanks to you at all times
for lifting me from my confusion,
for teaching me in the dark
and showing me the path of Life.
I have come to the Center of the Universe;
I rest in your perfect Love.
In your presence there is a Fullness of Joy,
and blessedness forever and ever.”
~ from Psalm 16, A Book of Psalms, by Stephen Mitchell
This is one of my favorite ‘morning reading’ or Lectio Divina pieces — it always seems to evoke a heartful state of being, or help me to re-center myself when I’m feeling a bit too off-kilter or feeling the turbulence whirling in the ‘shared energy field’.
Needless to say, it’s lovely to bring the consciousness-seed of “a fullness of joy” into the day, or carry it into the Dreamtime from reflecting on this Psalm-bit, or even using “In your presence there is a Fullness of Joy” as a mantra or centering prayer.
And though it’s from Psalms, what it speaks, to me, transcends the fences of particular religious or spiritual traditions, because it centers on Universal, interspiritual qualities.
May you experience (and ripple) a Fullness of Joy!
(I’d wish it for all beings, regardless of species!).

Well this is lovely. ‘teaching me in the dark’ — that’s a wise phrase, isn’t it? ‘….and showing me the path of Life.’
rivers of joy unto all…

It made me think and I simply loved it, and especially your suggestion for using “In your presence there is a Fullness of Joy” as a mantra or centering prayer.’ I will use it too as a mantra. Thank you for sharing.

I’m glad that’s the case, Marinela. Thank you. And ‘In Your Presence there is a Fullness of Joy’ … yup, that’s a potent and beautiful mantra-prayer. Blessings and Love, Jamie

I felt that way as well, Mary. It’s one of several in my little garden of ‘morning readings’, and there’s something about ‘a fullness of joy’ that just washes right over you! xoxo Love, Jamie
