“In detachment lies the wisdom of uncertainty … in the wisdom of uncertainty lies the freedom from our past, from the known, which is the prison of past conditioning. And in our willingness to step into the unknown, the field of all possibilities, we surrender ourselves to the creative mind that orchestrates the dance of the Universe.”
~ Deepak Chopra, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success
Uncertainty? Yep, right about now we’ve got that in spades.
Of course — at least some of the time — uncertainty sparks fear in the hearts of most of us (that’d be that past conditioning and our sometimes-inconvenient ‘negative brain bias’).
But live amidst the waves of uncertainty we must, so when the gut clenches and the fear raises its demon head and kicks us to our knees (or flat out), it’s worthwhile to have a few handy tried-and-true resources and practices at the ready.
Here are a couple of starters to stir your heart, calm the fear-demon a bit, and fortify your innate courage:
Wake-Up Juice article: Embracing Uncertainty (Are You Kidding Me?)
Meet the Goddesses of No Fear – Durga and Akhilanda
The Goddess of No Fear (and Lots of Courage): Rilke and The Black Madonna
Sophia’s Children Archives: Ta’Nit and the ‘No Fear’ Mudra

You might also find some heart-stirring in the recent Sophia’s Children posts on creativity and courage, and wholeheartedness and other fiery, Leonine qualities (ever so very helpful now!).
When we’re a bit more calm and centered, thanks to these and other practices, we know intuitively when to be more still and “let the murk settle” so we can see the way more clearly; when to dive in head first (or belly flop) into the rapids of Uncertainty; or when to be still and then dive (or leap … pick your metaphor) a bit more discerningly.
Either way (or both together) leads us to along those fierce edges of life that are alive and more honoring, respectful, and authentic for us.
Big Love,
