“I relate to the firing synapses willy nilly … I am wildly alert, yet kinda stunned or something …” quipped one Aqua’d wayfarer just this morning.
Sounds familiar.
My mind has been going at warp-speed, as my Aquarius Sun, Saturn, Midheaven and asteroids — a.k.a. my Aquarian Stuff — are more activated than usual in the Energies of Now. Perhaps you can relate?
Given the current cocktail of cosmic juju, we can more easily tap into the Aqua-Uranian qualities of insight, synchronicity, and genius (yes, we all have it … read on!).
And we would be also wise to balance all of that electrical, super-buzzed synaptic activity with some dedicated nervous-system-soothing self-care, lest we fritz-out and blow a fuse or two. Bzzzt! Metaphorically speaking, of course.
Of course, these possibilities and opportunities are always available to us, but at certain times they’re amped up and more easily available than ever.
Here’s what our insightful and courageous-minded friend Molly Hall says about one key element of the Energies of Now:

“Being spacy and distracted is not unusual during Mercury’s retrograde (in Aquarius).
It can send us down rabbit holes, where one strange thing leads to another. There can be a lot of flashes on seemingly random ideas, that sometime mosaic together unexpectedly, but other times stay a jumble of erratic strings of thought. It’s a good time for research and following the syncs you get that guide you forward.
The winged messenger Hermes (Greek) came before the Roman Mercury and was known as a conductor of souls into the underworld. During Mercury’s retrograde, we can be temporarily lost to the topside world, as we turn our eyes inward, to the secret caverns of our own underworld.
This is an absorbing experience, sometimes with an unknown outcome. The genius is that gift we each have to be interactive with life, and come into awareness of how we’re actors in it.” ~ Molly Hall (see below for the link to the rest of these Mercurial Secrets.)

There is a sense of swimming upstream, as Molly says (follow the link below) — and swimming way upstream and sending back choice bits of horizon-edge intel is the usual Aquarian territory and comfort/discomfort zone (you’ll get that if you’ve got Aquarian stuff and/or Aquarian peeps!).
Give your own genius a stir — check out the other cool, edgy, and timely insights Molly shares in her Swimming Upstream – Mercury in Aquarius musings.

May you breathe deeply and easily, and flow well with the currents of the Energies of Now.

Hey Jamie,
I understand. this is business as usual for us Uranian/Aquarian types. Makes being an ” airhead” much more attractive 🙂

You’re totally in sync with it, Linda. And yeah, who said there was anything wrong with being an Air Head? They just don’t understand … 😉

Well Alrighty Then — We have been feeling ‘zoned out and swimming uphill” for a week now thinking that maybe it was time to head back to Morocco where we felt more grounded and stabilized. This viewpoint has really helped me to relax and trust this introspective aspect that Merc in Retro brings. I hadn’t realized that when this occurs within the sign of Aquarius, there is a compounded factor that can feel doubly uncomfortable. The extra downloads, for instance. I’ve really felt spun six ways to Sunday and just thought I was having trouble readjusting to American culture. I’ll hang in here and give it a new looking at. Blessings and gratitude, Alia

Thanks for stopping by and chiming in, Alia. Well, I imagine there’d be quite an adjustment between Morocco and the U.S. (though the U.S. is large).
But yes, with the energies, I’m feeling it and have been hearing the same from others in the circle as well.
One additional factor is that Uranus (now in Aries) is sextiling Mercury in Aquarius from those mid-sign degrees, and I’ve noticed that when Uranus and Mercury sync up in closer aspects like that there’s an additional Zap Zone factor … super high frequency energy, very sensitizing, etc. In esoteric astrology, Uranus is the ‘higher octave’ of Mercury.
But yes, wow, the soothing self-care is definitely needed! May you feel gracefully soothed, grounded, and centered!
xoxo Love, Jamie

Well I was fine until just after dinner last night and they POW! WHACK! BAM! I was out for the count — called elsewhere, I guess. Important Council meeting somewhere, because I went to bed at 7, tried to get up at 8:30 and went back to sleep until 3:30 (unheard of for me) and then finally, with much exertion, got out of bed this morning at 6:15, feeling slightly off balance but at least my energy was back. So thank you again for some substantiation of these anomalous feelings and conditions. I’ll be very happy to see February 11 turn over on the calendar. ♥

It does seem true, Alia, that when the energy dynamics are more intense, the body needs more ‘deep yin’ time, and the best way to get that is sleep. I’m glad you experienced some restoration, and it’s wild when it sneaks up on us like that, isn’t it? Do you know how the current energy dynamics are interacting with your astro chart (and thus your ‘blueprint’)? Be well and give yourself and each other lots of TLC! Love, Jamie

Thank you Jamie — no clue about the astro chart. Have not gotten into that so much but it may give me a context to hold all this in. My default context is always “Off script, open-ended!” That covers 99% of it. “Hang in there and trust the process” covers the rest. ♥
