Yes, it’s that time again, as we head into the ‘shadow period’ of the upcoming Mercury Retrograde.

Despite the perpetual naysaying from the doom-and-gloom-sayers, these and other power portals increase the ease with which we might access certain possibilities.

The catch, or key, is knowing what the specific energies and possibilities are so that we might engage consciously and have fun while we’re at it.

This Mercury Retrograde begins in shamanic Scorpio and revisits the Libran territory of Venusian (and very unVenusian) qualities of thought that may be helping or hindering us.

It’s a portal of time that’s well-suited to alchemy and thought-magic (a.k.a. the power of the Word).

Here’s what astro-guide, Wild Bee Grove tender, and fellow wise-woman-tradition-keeper Molly Hall says about the flavors and potentials of this particular Mercury Retrograde period that we’re entering into:

Bela Lugosi as Dracula, 1933.

“This retrograde presents an exciting possibility.

There will be more awareness of different kinds of perceptual dark arts that are in full tilt boogie mode these days.

And looking at how the pulls on our energy affect our ability to stay clear-minded. The sorcery of grabbing emotional-psychic energy comes in many forms, from the seemingly benign (like advertising) to malignant (the large scale fear campaigns).

Pandora's Box (1871), by Dante Gabriel Rossetti. As with many feminine characters in history and mythology, Pandora's story got revised in a grinchy, anti-Feminine way. See the link at the end of this post for a Sophia's Children post about the real story of Pandora and the famed box.

It’s a time to experience lucidity, about what holds us in thrall, and how it affects the clarity of mind.”
