It's that magical thin-time of the year again, so here's some refreshed Imbolc-Candlemas inspiration to take you into this deeply creative, deeply Yin-Feminine time of the year. Imbolc-Candlemas is celebrated during the first few days of February, and the exact-point... Continue Reading →

For many horizon-edge walkers and vision-seeders, transformation agents, and similar culture-shifters, transformation fatigue and burnout are occupational hazards.
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and to become fatigued or heavy hearted at what seems a daunting task in the face of myriad epic challenges that roll in like waves from the ocean.
I’m pretty resilient, and devoted to The Work and the practices that allow and support it, but sometimes I — like all of us — feel the bone-weariness of transformation fatigue and other occupational hazards.
I’ve learned from experience that dipping often into the deep, rich wellsprings of inspiration from our kindred-spirit edge walkers and vision-seeders is vital … as are other disciplines and practices that help us to be as we are (and as we’re here on this planet…
"Without vision, the people perish." Most of us, maybe all of us, have experienced those times of vision-drought, times of vision-bounty, and those times of being in-between. Or those times of "vision shakeup" -- something that has happened recently for... Continue Reading →

Given what constantly vies for our attention (or ‘steals’ the magic of our focus, and thus our energy along with it), it’s important to reconnect again and again with the ‘underground streams’ of authentic vision and true inspiration.
I was intuitively guided to track down this Sophia’s Children post, update it, and re-feature it today.
The Wise Ones of many traditions, ancient and now, say that the reality we’re living in is the result of a collective dream … or persistently and commonly held vision.
May we reconnect with the magic of heartful, Wisdom-inspired vision for our own, and our collectively held, ‘reality’ that honors and respects the dignity of all beings.

If you’ve found regular inspiration … or a super-handy dose of it … in this and other Sophia’s Children articles and offerings, consider supporting the work in one of these ways:
“Living without a horizon is one of the greatest distractions. It cramps the imagination; it stifles the soul’s need for wildness, for adventure, or simply for free breathing.” ~ Tom Cowan, in The Celtic Way
It’s true.
Living without a worthy horizon, a new frontier of exploration and purpose, a stirring sense of mission, is more than just a distraction or something only privileged people have the ‘luxury’ of thinking about.
Far from it.
It’s more like being stuck in thick mud or quicksand that sucks the very life-force out of us, leaving us feeling apathetic, deflated, resigned; or angry and fundamentalist, acting out in ‘shadow’ ways.
There are times and circumstances that close in on us and distract us from the horizon by calling so much of our attention and energy to the mire that we, for a time, feel devoid of vision, and with it, purpose, and direction.
There's a lot of 'buzz' swirling about particularly intense energies and 'waves' and myriad other things for September 2015. This, of course, includes the usual yet unfortunate supply of 'catastrophe addiction' and 'drama, drama, conflama' type stuff stirring the ol'... Continue Reading →
