“Mind can neither recognize nor create beauty. … Many people are so imprisoned in their minds that the beauty of nature does not really exist for them.”
~ Eckhart Tolle, The Power of Now.
Here’s a short musing from notes I jotted during my morning reading this morning, when I read the above passage while revisiting The Power of Now (again) looking for something else.
It’s possible to see the concept of “anti-Christ” as the predominance of mind or intellect without the heart and full-sensory or whole perception.
Margaret Starbird shared that, by way of gematria (the ancient Kabbalistic tradition of connecting sacred passages with encoded sacred numbers), the “anti-Christ” alluded to “power without mercy” — the two were not one. It’s a similar concept.
We might also see it as left-brain without right-brain and heart, uber-Yang without Yin, or Masculine without Feminine.
With intellect unchecked by heart-body Wisdom, power without mercy, action without humaneness, we get the psychopathic or NarciPath and the cruelty and lack of humanity that comes from deep unconsciousness and a deeply wounded heart.
We see quite a bit of that around us these days, yes?
This shifts when we welcome home from exile that which has been exiled or suppressed, under-valued and under-recognized, and move into wholeness.
Most, if not all, spiritual traditions seem to aim at healing and re-unifying what has been ‘torn asunder’.
Practice, practice … and subtle activism, too.
Subtle Activism and the Fiery Phoenix topics are on my Muse-and-Write list, so stay tuned.
