My friend and compadre, Dayna, shared this Parabola Magazine interview yesterday (thanks, Dayna!).

It’s good holiday-time and Season of Lights inspiration, to be sure, and well beyond this season, too.

This particular interview features the wisdom, inspiration, and sharp insight of Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee, a wisdom teacher (and author, etc.) who has been one of my ‘Way Illuminators’ and guides since one of my spiritual mentors, Lynda Terry, pointed me his way in 2006 or 2007.

I’ve shared mention and insights from him in various Sophia’s Children posts over the years, including these two: The Return of the Feminine and the World Soul and in There’s a New Story Being Born.

Yet over the initiation-intensive years since 2006 or so, and each time I revisit the wisdom that’s come through him — or visit it anew via interviews like this one — I’m reminded, refreshed, and renewed. And each time, I understand it a bit more deeply, or ‘see with new eyes’.

I particularly appreciate Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee’s sharp insight, his deep love for both Beloved and Earth, his devotion to the purpose we might have and the gifts we might bring into these Transformation Times, and his being a voice for the re-emerging Feminine (his teacher was Mrs. Irina Tweedie).

I also appreciate his willingness to be unflinching about the existence of evil, and the importance … the vitalness … of being ‘good medicine‘ however we’re destined to be that.

“I think life is also a love affair because the world is created out of love, and it’s a question of whether one has the patience, the openness to learn to be present in life, to learn to have an open heart, to allow life to tell you its story.”

You see our destiny and the destiny of the Earth are bound together in ways we don’t understand and if you allow life to speak to you, if you learn to listen to life, it’s not about what “I” want from life.”

“Sadly in America they’ve misunderstood following your dream or living your dream or destiny—it’s become like a product or lifestyle.”
